Alison Dwyer

I am an Advanced practice Nurse (APRN) with Board Certification in Psychiatry. I am also a graduate of Psychiatry Redefined’s Integrative & Functional Psychiatry Program. I have been trained in the fields of medicine/nursing, education, psychology and alternative/ complementary care. My experience has included a fellowship in psychiatry with Harvard-Vanguard in Boston, owning and operating an integrative wellness center in RI, and teaching on the collegiate level. I have many years of experience working with individuals from childhood through later life. I also love to work with couples.

I am a skilled therapist trained in multiple forms of treatment including EMDR, CBT, Trauma, Depth Hypnosis, Inner Child and Family of Origin work, addiction and recovery, and spirituality.

As an Advanced Practice Nurse, I assess, diagnose and treat mental health disorders including multiple forms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD and other mood-related disorders. My experience also includes working with women specifically those in need of therapeutic support through pregnancy, postpartum or menopause.

As an integrative practitioner I utilize medication ( such as antidepressants and other forms of psychiatric medications) as well as supplements. herbs, nutritional support, yoga/meditation and other body- based modalities.

My philosophy for healing embraces the view that each person is unique and deserving of compassionate care that is based on the person’s goals and vision for health. Integrative healing involves the whole person- body, mind, spirit and the environment one lives and works in. Crucial to my work are ongoing collaborations with integrative pracitioners, including Functional Medicine Collaborative, a team of healthcare providers dedicated to addressing the underlying causes of disease.

Susan M. Baumgarten

I am a registered dietitian (RD, LDN) and have lived in Wellfleet for nearly twenty years. I studied nutrition at Simmons College and following graduation completed a dietetic internship at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital (now Brigham and Women’s Hospital). For the next five years I served as a community nutritionist, establishing the WIC program and nutrition service at two Brigham affiliated community health centers in Jamaica Plain. I then enrolled in the Simmons MBA program and began a career in the life sciences industry.

I’ve spent several decades consulting to scientific and medical teams to support decisions about whether and how to commercialize innovative scientific discoveries. My work focused on conducting in-depth interviews with thought leading physicians and scientists as well as patients, integrating the output with key findings from evidence based scientific publications and presenting insight and recommendations to support company decision-making.

In parallel with my interest in science and medicine I have always been passionate about food, cooking and nutrition. As a life-long learner I have studied traditional Chinese medicine, functional medicine and Japanese macrobiotic style cooking. I’m a scratch-cook and never tire of creating vibrant, health-giving meals that nourish body and soul.

As a student of Tibetan Buddhism for several decades, I have experienced first-hand the profound contribution of mind and spirit to health span and lifespan. I am passionate about harnessing my life experience and knowledge to support others seeking to optimize their health.

I am delighted to work closely with Alison Dwyer to support mind, body and spirit with a variety of programs and service offerings in The Healing Space community.

Sharon Crivallero

My name is Sharon and I am a teacher of Yin yoga.

Yin yoga is a meditative style of yoga that focuses on passive stretching and holding gentle poses for an extended periods of time. It’s designed to improve flexibility, increase range of motion and release tension in the body and mind. While in the poses I will apply gentle touch as well as energy healing. Yin yoga encourages practitioners to tune into their bodies and minds , paying attention to the breath , thoughts and body sensations. It also balance the bodies energy meridians and brings balance to the organs of the body.

My intention for the class is to encourage deep relaxation, calming the nervous system by releasing tension and stress in the body.

Class will be held on Sunday afternoons from 4-530pm--start date-----. The cost for the class is 20$ and can be paid on the day of the class. No one will be turned away due to financial constraints or inability to pay the full cost. If you’re interested in participating please text me at 508-221-1803.

Class size is limited to 8 spaces.

Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can all settle in. Yoga supplies are available at The Healing Space  but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

I look forward to sharing this beautiful and ancient practice of relaxation with you all !!
