Guided Meditation and Contemplation Pema Chodron’s Teachings and Latest Book, Welcoming the Unwelcome

Facilitators: Alison Dwyer, APRN-BC and Susan Baumgarten, RD, LDN 

Alison is an integrative nurse practitioner who weaves mindfulness, yoga and meditation into her healing work with individuals and groups. She has been teaching mindfulness workshops and retreats for over 15 years.  

Susan, an integrative nutritionist, has been practicing Tibetan Buddhism for over 20 years and receives teachings from one of Pema Chodron’s teacher. 

When: Sundays 2- 3:30pm, every two weeks, starting March 23rd, 2025

Where: First meeting, in-person at The Healing Space, 8 Nells Way in Orleans, MA 

Subsequent classes, Zoom option

Registration: Space is limited. Advance registration suggested. 

Cost: $120 for six classes (Venmo, Zelle or personal check payable to Alison Dwyer)

Meditation and Contemplation Practices Including:

Basic sitting meditation, known as shamatha-vipashyana (“(tranquility-insight”)

Tonglen practice to generate compassion in the face of suffering 

L.E.S.R., pronounced like “laser”; stands for locate, embrace, stop, remain. To work with physical tightness, mental/emotional storylines, and staying present with difficult feelings
